Developing Emotional Capability by Mrs.Rajini Sriraman
Roundtable discussions on Emotions & Developing Emotional Capability was well attended. 30 students participated. This roundtable was specifically designed to encourage the students to talk & share their perspectives on emotions. Leading the session on what emotions meant to them & what are their primary emotions. Students shared brilliant perspectives & some were so mature & intelligent. Few scholars spoke about positive emotions like joy & optimism & how they used that in their daily lives. Some shared challenging emotions like sadness, fear & sensitivity. Cherry on the cake was, how they were able to pick up great learnings from their peers. Peer sharing & peer recognition were also the highlights of the session. The facilitator shared some useful tools to handle difficult emotions & techniques to build long lasting emotional capability.
The facilitator also shared some ideas on how to manage emotions while at work & how to experience every emotion without ignoring them.
Overall it was highly participative & all the scholars got opportunity to speak.
